As Above, So Below
Your Higher Self, or Soul chose its exact time and place to come into this human existence in accordance with its Master Plan. The astrological chart is the Soul’s blueprint, what it it had in mind for this time here on Earth. We arrive with our own unique idea of what we came to do; the Natal Chart is a map of our place in the Universe and a guide for our chosen Path. The Personality chosen by the Soul is also part of the Master Plan and is correctly described by orthodox astrology which answers questions about our mundane lives, our daily details. But when we begin to seek on a spiritual level, to align with our Soul, the New Astrology or Soul’s Purpose Astrology automatically becomes operative.
Although we are calling it the New Astrology, this astrology comes from the Wisdom Traditions of the ancients of Egypt, Greece, India and Tibet. Orthodox (or exoteric, outer) astrology was that given to the common people, while Esoteric (inner, spiritual) astrology was used only by priests and initiates, but always with the idea that some time in the future, it would apply to all people. Madame Blavatsky and Alice Bailey were the first “modern day” people to receive and write about the ancient knowledge some 100 years ago. Dr. Douglas Baker then studied their material, furthered their research and has written over 80 books on the subject.

The primary goal of Esoteric Astrology is to help align the Personality with the Soul’s Intent. Through the language of astrological symbols, the astrologer can translate the purpose of the Soul functioning within the personality, then give appropriate advice as to how the personality can be directed in ways compatible with the master plan of the Soul.
Soul’s Purpose Astrology is not a pat process of memorizing formulae or spitting out a computer report. Rather, it is an interaction of the astrologer with the client and his/her Soul through the medium of the birth chart. Intuition, dreams and a connection of the two Higher Selves are all involved. Interpretations are careful, customized study by the astrologer reading the language of the Soul of the client through the chart.
Astrology indicates potential and challenge in the life of a personality and can therefore offer direction. It does not attempt to predict or state absolutes. It does NOT take away free choice. Thus, every report has many meanings and the better the astrologer knows you, the client, the deeper she can peel the onion of meanings to get you the information you most need now. The astrologer offers guidance as to the Soul’s intent and your own character traits which may hinder or forward that intent. You still have free will - this is not fate, rather, possibilities and direction.
